We are pleased to announce our Aspen Gay Ski Week Trip. This is a four night trip, leaving Wednesday, January 18 and returning on Sunday January 22, 2017. This is your chance to experience the longest running gay ski week in America with its apres skis, comedy night, downhill costume contest, parties (including its fabulous pool party on Saturday night), and I almost forgot – great skiing in Colorado powder at 4 different resorts.
Please note that there will be only one chance to sign up – due to the short time between this announcement and the trip, the sign up deadline is November 11, just a few weeks away. I have attached a description of the trip and a sign up form to this e-mail. To sign up, e-mail your sign up form to Moises at email@example.com or mail your form to the Arriba P.O. Box (P.O. Box 69611, West Hollywood, CA 90069). Also, mail your deposit check, payable to the “Arriba Ski Club” to the P.O Box.
We are excited to start the new ski season with our annual Season Kick Off Party! Come hear about all the great trips we have planned for this season. We will be taking sign ups for trips so bring your checkbooks!
We are holding the party in the early afternoon to take advantage of the pool so bring your swimsuits and sunscreen. Also, seating is limited so please bring a beach chair to lounge on.
The club will provide a main dish (chicken) as well as drinks. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Evites have already been sent out. Please RSVP by September 26
Get out your calendars! We are pleased to announce our ski trip schedule for the 2017 ski season. For the listing go to the Trips and Events section of the website. If you plan on participating in any of these trips, please let the appropriate trip chair know which trips you plan on participating in. For the mammoth trips send to firstname.lastname@example.org. For all out of state trips send to email@example.com. It will help the board gauge the interest level in each trip and also to allow us to know who to contact for feedback during the planning stages of each trip.
For all you Early Birds out there it is time to renew your membership. Renew your membership now and pay the Early Bird price of just $25, a $10 discount from the regular $35 membership fee. Just print out this membership form, fill it out, sign it, and send it with your payment to the Arriba P.O. Box (P.O. Box 69611, West Hollywood, CA 90069).
There’s been a slew of season extensions this week, from Aspen Mountain adding a bonus weekend to A-Basin announcing they will keep the lifts turning through June 12. But Mammoth has trumped everyone with the announcement that they will remain open daily through July 4.
Mammoth’s 361 inches of snow and 130-inch base at the summit are to thank for the long season. Starting on June 6th operating hours will shift to 7:30 am to 1:00 pm to take advantage of the best conditions.
We are ready to purchase the tickets for Diana Ross at The Hollywood Bowl for Saturday, July 16. We have 24 tickets at $45 each. This includes Zankou Chicken and dessert. Bring your own drink. The first 24 people that send checks to the Arriba Post Box will get the seats.
We will meet at the Picnic area before the show for dinner; 6:00pm. The concert starts at 8:00pm.
Send your checks to:
Arriba Ski and Snowboard Club
PO Box 69611
West Hollywood, 90069.
Arriba is in the early planning stages of a return to Yosemite in June 2017.
In the past, the trip was a 3 night trip on the first weekend of June with the first night at Wawona Lodge (4 miles past South Entrance) and the next two nights at Yosemite Lodge (on the valley floor). We are implementing a couple of changes to the trip from how it has been in the past. First, we are planning on having the trip occur later in the month to accommodate those in the Education profession and are tied to the school year (tentative dates are June 15-17, 2017). Second, we are considering changing the trip to a 4 night trip. So we need your feedback on the following three options:
1) Are planning on going on the trip in 2017 (This is one of the best Arriba trips, if you have never been)
2) if you prefer a 3-night or 4-night trip
3) if you prefer a 4- night trip, would you prefer to stay two nights in Wawona and two nights at Yosemite Lodge OR one night in Wawona and 3-nights at Yosemite Lodge
Around Wawona are the Mariposa Groves, Golf Course, and Logging Train and at Yosemite Lodge you have access to all the Yosemite Valley has to offer.
Please reply as soon as possible. Your response will help us gauge the general interest level and give us a rough idea of how many rooms we need to reserve.
Send your reply to Curtis or Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org
